Five Pounds, Dated 8.10.1999 Specimen
Judging by the control number, one would have to say that more than 1000+ specimens were printed and yet they are so expensive to buy! I have seen this note with control number of #2 and #3 and I have also sighted the one with #1000 in VF condition. You may ask, despite there are so many printed and yet it’s so expensive to get one. It appears that majority of these specimen notes were hoarded by senior management staff of the bank. Obviously not that many were released to collectors and as such the current high price demanded. If you can find one and you think you can afford it, then make yourselves happy. If not, don’t loose any sleep over this.View other Millennium banknotes:-
